Our Objectives
The San Diego Sea to Sea Trail Foundation was started with the following objectives:
To foster environmental awareness
Being in the wilderness provides a great opportunity to learn more about the natural environment. By experiencing the San Diego Sea to Sea Trail for yourself, you will gain a greater awareness of the environment and act towards its preservation. We also want to encourage schools to use the Trail as an educational resource and we are eager to work with teachers to achieve this. Click here to see how.
To support conservation through ecological tourism and sponsorship
Individuals and corporations are encouraged to support the San Diego Sea to Sea Trail either financially or in kind. We offer the unique chance to Adopt-a-Mile, help maintain the Trail on an annual basis, or to volunteer out on the Trail itself.
To open trail systems to adventurers with disabilities
Through an alliance with Accessible San Diego, the Foundation is committed to trying to make as much of the San Diego Sea to Sea Trail as accessible as possible to those adventurers with disabilities.
To have fun
Of course, the Trail is a great adventure, but it delivers more. Being on a trail reveals fresh perspectives. You might feel the warm closeness of being in a group, or if on your own, you might enjoy the solitude and commitment of your own personal challenge.
