Our Alliances

In addition to the San Diego, Salton City and Borrego Springs Chambers of Commerce, and Imperial County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors, the Foundation works jointly with the San Diego Trans-County Trail Joint Agency Committee, which represents the following nine government agencies:

We have also formed alliances with Sally Ride (Imaginary Lines and the Sally Ride Science Club), San Diego Natural History Museum, San Diego County Office of Education, San Diego Mountain Biking Association, San Diego Hiking Club and Dirty Daizies.

Through an alliance with Accessible San Diego, the Foundation is committed to trying to make as much of the San Diego Sea to Sea Trail as accessible as possible to those adventurers with disabilities.

At present, the 140-mile corridor of government-owned property through which the Trail traverses is nearly unbroken. The Foundation is assisting the Government in acquiring the handful of private parcels that break up the corridor, in order to form a continuous, safe and mostly motor-free trail.

The Foundation expects the Trail to be completed by 2006.
