We need your support. The tax-deductible donation you make by supporting one of the special sections below will help ensure the preservation of the Trail as an historic and living resource.
Founder Adopt-A-Mile Markers
What better way to support the Trail than to leave a record on the Trail itself by adopting a Mile Marker. Located alongside the Trail, each of the Mile Markers will include your name on a plaque.
You, as a Mile Marker contributor, will also receive a photo plaque that can include your name and/or company logo, a picture of your Mile Marker and a map showing your GPS marker coordinates. Your name and/or company logo will also appear on the Friends page of our Web site and E-News newsletter.
This year, the tax-deductible donation for a Trail Marker is $1,000, and your Mile Marker will be yours for five years, with right of renewal. For a life-long Mile Marker, this year’s tax-deductible donation is $10,000.
For another $250, we’ll even give you a replica of your Mile Marker for your office or den!
Maintain-A-Mile Marker
Each Mile Marker pyramid will have a second engraved bronze plaque, dedicated to those who help to maintain the Trail on an annual basis. We will also include your name and/or company logo on the Friends page of our Web site and E-News newsletter.
This year, the tax-deductible donation for a Trail Marker is $500 per annum.
Adopt a Tree
A wonderful gift for someone close to you, or even for yourself - a gift for 1,000 years - your very own native California Oak or Sycamore, to be planted near the Trail. You will receive a certificate with all the relevant information on it, just about your tree. Your name or company logo will appear on the Friends page of our Web site and E-News newsletter.
This year, the tax-deductible donation for an adopted tree is $100.
Founder Adopt-A-Vista
Another great way to leave a record of your generosity on the Trail is to adopt a vista. A plaque with your name or that of someone important to you or the name of your company will be placed prominently at one of the Trail’s beautiful viewing locations. It could be an overlook above, say, a lake, canyon, woodland or desert.
Your plaque can include a photo and logo (for, say, your company). You will also receive, for home display, a picture of your vista and a map showing your GPS vista coordinates. Your name or company logo will appear on the Friends page of our Web site and E-News newsletter.
This year, the tax-deductible donation for a Vista ranges from $5,000 to $75,000.
Founder Adopt-A-Structure (Bridge, Tunnel, Boardwalk, Bench, Trellis etc)
And a third great and permanent way to leave an on-the-Trail record of your important, Trail-blazing support is to help fund a man-made structure, such as a bridge, tunnel, boardwalk, bench or trellis. A plaque with your name or that of someone important to you or the name of your company will be placed prominently near one of these (eco-friendly) works. Your name or company logo will appear on the Friends page of our Web site and E-News newsletter.
This year, the tax-deductible donation for a structural contribution ranges from $5,000 to $200,000.
Land Purchases
At present, the 140-mile corridor of government-owned property through which the Trail traverses is nearly unbroken. The Foundation is assisting the Government in acquiring the handful of private parcels that break up the corridor, in order to form a continuous, safe and motor-free Trail.
Your financial support will enable us to achieve these goals, and full naming rights will be given to major sponsors.
Environmental Endowments
Throughout the length of the Trail, a number of specific park structures will need to be built, such as boardwalks (eg, the Torrey Pines/ Carmel Valley Rd Walkway), underpasses (eg. under I-67 west of San Vicente Reservoir), bridges and benches.
Each structure will require appropriate funding, and can be discussed with the Foundation.
All contributions will be prominently marked with a permanent, bronze plaque installed on the specific structure, and you will receive a photo plaque that includes your logo, a picture of your structure and a map showing your GPS marker coordinates. Your name or company logo will appear on the Friends page of our Web site and newsletter.
Education Endowments
The Foundation is committed to encouraging schools to use the San Diego Sea to Sea Trail as an educational resource.
We will publish brochures, maps and flyers for elementary, middle and high school students to teach them about plants, animals, geology, history, environmental responsibility and to foster in them a love of the outdoors.
In return for your support, we will print your logo and we will express our appreciation on the Web site, in the newsletter and in all study kits. We will also invite you to publicize your association with the Foundation. Last, we will help you organize events such as tours or picnics for your company, group or family.
